To a 0.1 M solution of 4-[2,4-bis-((S)-3-methyl-morpholin-4-yl)-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7-yl]-pyridin-2-ylamine (example lcz) (1 equiv) in pyridine was added acetic anhydride (3 equiv). A reflux condenser was attached to the reaction vessel which was then heated to 70° C. for 2 days. Upon completion, the reaction was purified, in its crude for by preparative HPLC to give the title compound as a white solid.
