Into a dried pressure vessel purged with nitrogen, 80 L of cyclohexane solvent and 0.17 L of sec-butyllithium initiator (10% by mass solution in cyclohexane) were charged. After raising the temperature to 50° C., 3.9 L of styrene was added to allow the polymerization to proceed for 3 h. Then, the polymerization was allowed to proceed for 4 h after adding a mixed liquid of 12.1 L of isoprene and 10.9 L of butadiene and further for 3 h after adding 3.9 L of styrene. The resultant reaction liquid was poured into 80 L of methanol, and the precipitated solid matter was separated by filtration and dried at 50° C. for 20 h, to obtain a polystyrene block-poly(isoprene/butadiene) block-polystyrene block, triblock copolymer.
