N-(4-(1-(4-(1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexafluoro-2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)benzyl)piperidine-4-carbonyl)phenyl)acetamide (1.128 mmol, 567 mg) was dissolved in ethanol (20 mL) and 2M hydrochloric acid (56.4 mmol, 28.2 mL) added. The mixture was heated to 100° C. overnight and cooled. The mixture was purified by strong cation exchange column chromatography and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound (338 mg). MS (ESI) m/z 461.2 [M+H]+
