Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of 2-(3-(2,6-Dimethylbenzyloxy)phenyl)-2-methylpropanal (Step D, 1.9 g, 6.7 mmol) in acetone (40 ml) was added drop wise jones reagent (10 ml) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred for 3 hours, and was taken in EtOAc and washed with water, brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated and purified by flash chromatography on a silica gel column (chloroform:methanol, 95:5 spiked with acetic acid) to give the title compound.
