3-(4-((tert-Butyldimethylsilyl)oxy)benzyl)-2-(cis-4-((tert-butyldimethylsilyl)oxy)cyclohexyl)-2-hydroxysuccinic acid (90 mg, 0.16 mmol) was dissolved in acetic anhydride (2.0 ml), and the mixture was stirred at 120° C. for 18 hr. The mixture was allowed to cool, excess acetic anhydride was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel column (hexane:ethyl acetate=94:6) to give the title compound as a yellow oil (60 mg, yield 70%).
