In a manner similar to example 2-3, starting from 5.3 g (13.4 mmol) of methyl (S)-3-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-2-(4-ethylpiperazin-1-yl)propanoate, 5.4 g (100%) of (S)-3-amino-2-[4-(4-fluorobenzyl)piperazin-1-yl]propanoate trihydrochloride are obtained in the form of a beige solid.
