To a solution of N-(4-(3-bromophenyl)-3-hydroxybutan-2-yl)-3-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole-5-carboxamide (300 mg, 0.6 mmol) in DCM (300 mL), Dess-Martin reagent (988 mg, 2.4 mmol) was added in portions. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (Petroleum ether:EtOAc=5:1) to afford N-(4-(3-bromophenyl)-3-oxobutan-2-yl)-3-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole-5-carboxamide (200 mg, 67%) as a white solid. MS (ES+) C20H15BrF3N3O4 requires: 497, 499, found: 498 [M+H]+, 500 [M+2+H]+(1:1).
