A mixture of 8-benzyl-N-methyl-N-(1-methylethyl)-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrazino[2,3-f][1,4]oxazepin-3-amine (500 mg), N-bromosuccinimide (342 mg) and acetonitrile (10 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 16 hr and at 50° C. for 24 hr. Water was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine, dried over sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (solvent gradient: 0-40% ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (122 mg, 20%) as a colorless oil.
