A mixture of 1-methyl-5-(3,3,4,4-tetramethylborolan-1-yl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-one (100 mg, 0.33 mmol), 1-(2-bromo-4-ethylsulfonylphenoxy)-2,4-difluorobenzene (100 mg, 0.27 mmol), Pd(dppf)Cl2 (24 mg) and K3PO4 (107 mg, 0.80 mmol) in dioxane (4 mL) and water (1 mL) was purged with nitrogen, capped, and heated to 90° C. for 4 h. After the mixture was filtered through a short bed of celite, the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and purified by prep-HPLC afford the title compound (43 mg, 34%) as a white solid. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz) □ ppm 8.11 (s, 1H) 7.88 (s, 2H) 7.80 (m, 1H), 7.23-7.10 (m, 1H) 7.09-6.91 (m, 2H) 6.91-6.78 (m, 1H) 6.25 (s, 1H) 3.70 (s, 3H) 3.15 (q, J=7.2 Hz, 2H) 1.31 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 3H). LCMS (M+H)+=474.
