A solution of 4-(7-isopropyl-4-methyl-3-oxo-2,3,4,10-tetrahydro-9-oxa-1,2,4a-triaza-phenanthren-6-yl)-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.035 g, 0.036 mmol) in DCM (6 mL) and trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) was stirred at ambient temperature for 1.5 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo to give 7-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-piperidin-4-yl-2,10-dihydro-9-oxa-1,2,4a-triaza-phenanthren-3-one trifluoroacetic acid as pale yellow solid (0.033 g, 89%). LC/MS (Table 1, Method 5) Rt=2.217 min.; MS m/z: 343 [M+H]+.
