A mixture of methyl 2-[(2′-cyanobiphenyl-4-yl)methyl]-3-oxoheptanoate (1.2 g) and 5-methyl-N-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine (0.3 g) was stirred at 250° C. for 20 min under microwave irradiation. The obtained reaction mixture was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound as a colorless solid (0.52 g, 66%).
