2,4-dimethylthiazole-5-carbonyl chloride 17 (104 mg, 0.58 mmol) was added to a suspension of 2-amino-3-(pyrazine-2-carboxamido)benzoic acid 16 (100 mg, 0.39 mmol) in pyridine (5 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 h then poured into ice cooled H2O (30 mL). The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, rinsed with H2O, and dried under vacuum to give 18 (110 mg, 81% yield).
