Following a procedure analogous to that for the synthesis of Example 106, (S)-tert-butyl 3-formyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline-2(1H)-carboxylate (Aubry, S. et al., Tetrahedron Lett., 47:1319-1323 (2006)) (71 mg, 0.27 mmol) and morpholine (28 μL, 0.33 mmol) were converted to the title compound (80 mg, 89%). 1H NMR (CDCl3, mixture of rotamers) δ 7.24-7.20 (m, 4H), 4.85-4.66 (m, 1H), 4.54-4.42 (m, 1H), 4.30-4.17 (m, 1H), 3.67 (br s, 4H), 3.13-2.96 (m, 1H), 2.93-2.69 (m, 1H), 2.62-2.29 (m, 5H), 2.18-2.01 (m, 1H), 1.51 (s, 9H); MS(ESI+) m/z 333.2 (M+H)+.
