But-3-yn-2-one (Int 5, 1 eq) and diazo-acetic acid ethyl ester (Int 6, 1.1 eq) are added to a solution of InCl3 (0.2 eq) in water and stirred for 30 min at room temperature. After overnight stirring at room temperature, the mixture is diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The resulting organic phase is dried and evaporated to give the desired product.
