To a solution of compound 5 (12.2 mmol) in anhydrous EtOH (50 mL) was added Pd/C 10% (20% w/w). The vessel was flushed with nitrogen and H2 was added. The reaction mixture was stirred under hydrogen atmosphere for 16 hrs. The catalyst was filtered off and washed several times with EtOH. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to yield compound 6 as a colourless oil in a quantitative yield.
