A solution of [bis(2-methoxyethyl)amino]sulfur trifluoride in toluene (50%; 162 μL) is added to an ice-cooled solution of 1-{4-[5-(4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-2-yl]-piperidin-1-yl}-2-methyl-propan-2-ol (100 mg) in dichloromethane (2 mL) and the resulting mixture is stirred for 16 h. The reaction mixture is diluted with methanol and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by HPLC to give the title compound. LC (method 1): tR=1.17 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=432 [M+H]+.
