1-[1-(2,4-Difluoro-phenyl)-5-oxo-pyrrolidin-3-ylmethyl]-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (0.222 g, 0.62 mmol) was dissolved in a mixture of solvents Methanol:water (3:1, 5 ml) and KOH (0.07 g, 125 mmol) was added to the reaction mixture and then stirred at 50-55° C. for 3 hours.
