To a suspension of 2-{[4-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]oxy}-5-formylbenzonitrile (1.0 g, 3.07 mmol) and ammonia (10 mL, 70.0 mmol) (7M in MeOH) in methanol (50 mL), was added Pd/C (0.327 g, 3.07 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt overnight under H2 atmosphere, filtered and concentrated. Purification via MDAP afforded the title compound (500 mg). LC-MS (ESI): m/z 327 [M+H]+; 2.49 min (ret time).
