1-[(2R,6R,11S)-7-Amino-8-hydroxy-6,11-dimethyl-1,2,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-2,6-methano-benzo[d]azocin-3-yl]-2,2,2-trifluoro-ethanone (200 mg) taken up in trimethyl orthoacetate (1 mL) is heated at 100° C. for 3 h. After cooling to ambient temperature, the mixture is concentrated and the residue is triturated with little methanol and dried to give the title compound.
