Reaction Steps
1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (40 mg, 0.21 mmol) was added to a room temperature solution of (+/−)-4-(1-(4-(4-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenoxy)butyl)benzoic acid (80 mg, 0.20 mmol), methyl 3-aminopropanoate hydrochloride (28 mg, 0.20 mmol), 1-hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole (30 mg, 0.22 mmol), and triethylamine (31 μL, 0.22 mmol) in dichloromethane (2 mL). The solution was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with dichloromethane (20 mL) and washed with water, then brine. The organic layer was dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to give (+/−)-methyl 3-(4-(1-(4-(4-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenoxy)butyl)benzamido)propanoate (89 mg, 90%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3, δ): 7.74-7.70 (m, 2H), 7.69-7.66 (s, 1H), 7.44-7.41 (m, 1H), 7.40-7.36 (m, 2H), 7.18-7.13 (m, 2H), 6.91-6.86 (m, 2H), 6.83-6.75 (m, 1H), 5.16-5.12 (m, 1H), 3.72-3.66 (m, 5H), 2.66-2.60 (m, 2H), 2.06-1.93 (m, 1H), 1.86-1.74 (m, 1H), 1.55-1.35 (m, 2H), 0.99-0.91 (m, 3H).
