To a solution of 4-[trans-4-(2,4-Dioxo-1,4-dihydro-2H-quinazolin-3-ylmethyl)cyclohexanecarbonyl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.16 g, 2.5 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) H2SO4 (0.26 mL, 5 mmol) was added and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was washed with 10 mL of 0.4 M solution Na2CO3 and the organic phase was collected and concentrated under reduced pressure. 0.57 g of the titled compound were obtained (yield 63%).
