To a solution of 1-benzoyl-3-(2,6-dibromo-4-fluoro-phenyl)-thiourea (1.37 g, 3.17 mmol) in MeOH (12 mL) was added dropwise a sodium methoxide solution (5.4M in MeOH, 1.29 mL, 6.96 mmol) at 0° C. The mixture was warmed to 23° C. and stirred for 16 hours. MeOH was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in water, cooled to 0° C., and acidified to pH 4 with 1M HCl. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration and washed with hexanes to yield titled compound (1.04 g, 99%). MS (ESI/CI): mass calcd. for C7H5Br2FN2S, 325.9; m/z found, 326.9 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD-d4): 8.05-8.01 (m, 2H).
