A solution of 5-chloropyrazin-2-amine (0.336 g, 2.6 mmol) and 2-bromo-1-[3-nitro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethanone (0.811 g, 2.6 mmol) in acetonitrile (15 mL) is stirred at 100° C. for 18 hr. The mixture is concentrated to give the title compound (890 mg), which is used without further purification. LCMS m/z=343.3 [M+H]+, tR=2.65 min.
