39 mg of palladium-on-charcoal at 10% are added to a solution containing 390 mg (1.7 mmol) of 3-(1-benzyl-1H[1,2,3]triazol-4-yl)propanoic acid in 3 ml of methanol. The reaction mixture is placed under 10 bar of hydrogen pressure and stirred at 60° C. for 16 hours. After filtration through celite, the solvents are evaporated off and the residue is purified by silica gel chromatography (eluent 95/5 dichloro-methane/methanol). 159.8 mg of 3-(1H[1,2,3]triazol-4-yl)propanoic acid are obtained in the form of a white powder with a yield of 67%.
