To a round-bottom flask was added a solution of methyl 2-(tetrahydrofuran-3-yl)acetate (compound 130.3, 1.50 g, 10.4 mmol, 1.00 equiv) and NH2NH2. H2O (1.04 g, 20.8 mmol, 2.00 equiv) in methanol (15 mL). The resulting mixture was stiffed overnight at 80° C. in an oil bath. After cooling to ambient temperature, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo to yield 1.20 g (80%) of the title compound as a yellow oil.
