Procedure
2.4 g (0.01 mole) 3-amino-5-(2,6-dichlorophenylamino)-1,2,4-oxadiazole in 10 ml pyridine are mixed with 5 moles acetanhydride at room temperature and stirred for 2 hours at 25°-30° C. After evaporation of the solvent, the residue is taken up at CHCl3 and shaken with sodium hydrogen carbonate solution. The CHCl3 phase contains 3 g of the N-acetyl compound, which is purified by column-chromatography on silica gel. The product has a melting point of 164°-165° C.
