Procedure

3-Amino-[1,2,4]triazole (8.40 g, 100 mmol) and isobenzofuran-1,3-dione (14.8 g, 100 mmol) were suspended in 1,4-dioxane (200 ml) and heated at 120° C. for 2 days. After the reaction mixture was cooled down at room temperature, the resulting precipitate was filtered, and the cake was washed with H2O then EtOAc to obtain the intended compound as a colorless solid.
