Procedure
0.25 g of 1-[(3-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrrolidin-1-yl)carbonyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline and 1.05 ml of acetic anhydride are placed in a 10 ml round-bottomed flask. The reaction medium is brought to reflux for two hours and then a solution of ammonia in water is added at 0° C. The aqueous phase is extracted three times with ethyl acetate. The organic phases are combined and dried over sodium sulfate and the solvent is evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue is chromatographed on silica gel with a dichloromethane/methanol 95/5 mixture. 0.284 g of 1-acetyl-4-[(3-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrrolidin-1-yl)carbonyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline is obtained.
