Procedure

1,3-(S)-dibenzyl-8-(2,3-difluorobenzoyl)-1,4,8-triazaspiro[4,5]decan-2-one (370 mg, 0.8 mmol) was dissolved in ethyl methyl ketone (2.9 mL), water (8 μL), ether (30 mL) and TMSCl (108 μL) were added and the mixture was stirred overnight. The solid matter was isolated by filtration, washed with ether, and dried in vacuo. The product 1,3-(S)-dibenzyl-8-(2,3-difluorobenzoyl)-1,4,8-triazaspiro[4,5]decan-2-one hydrochloride was obtained in a yield of 317 mg (80%).
