Reaction Steps

Platinum oxide (10 mg) was added to a solution of (6R*,9aS*)-6-(4-carbomethoxyphenyl)-3,6,7,8,9,9a-hexahydroquinolizin-4-one (145 mg) in methanol (5 mL), and the reaction solution was stirred in a hydrogen stream at room temperature for three hours. The reaction solution was filtered through celite, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 125 mg of the title compound.
