Palladium-carbon (containing 50% water, 900 mg) was added to a solution of tert-butyl (E)-(2S,5R)-2-(3,4-difluorophenyl)-5-(2-methoxycarbonylvinyl)pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (4.5 g) in ethyl acetate (100 mL), and the reaction solution was stirred in a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 2.5 hours. Palladium-carbon in the reaction solution was removed by filtration through celite, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 4.1 g of the title compound.
