Reaction Steps
To a solution of the compound obtained in Example 1 (1.59 g, 2.38 mmol) in ethanol (40 ml) were added 1N hydrochloric acid (7 ml) and 10% palladium-carbon (60% wet, 0.63 g), and the mixture was stirred vigorously under hydrogen atmosphere for 20 hours. The catalyst was removed, and the filtrate was neutralized with 1N sodium hydroxide solution. The solvent was distilled off. The residue was distributed between ethyl acetate and water, and the organic layer was washed with saturated brine and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was distilled off, and the obtained powders were washed with diethyl ether to give the title compound (980 mg, 71%) as pale yellow powders.
