To the solution of N-(4-{2-[(tert-butoxy)carbonylamino]-ethyl}phenyl){2-[(4-pyridylmethyl)amino](3-pyridyl)}carboxamide (96 mg, 0.22 mmol, Example 71) in CH2Cl2 (3 mL) was added TFA (3 mL). The mixture was stirred for 3 h at RT. The reaction mixture was concentrated and dried in vacuo to yield N-[4-(2-aminoethyl)phenyl]{2-[(4-pyridylmethyl)-amino](3-pyridyl)}carboxamide. MS (ES+): 348 (M+H); (ES−): 346 (M−H). Calc'd. for C20H21N5O−347.17.
