Procedure
A solution of 4-(thiazol-2-ylsulfamoyl)-benzimidic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride (100 mmol) in 7 N NH3 (120 mL in methanol) was stirred at 60° C. for 2 h. After reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, the precipitate was filtered, washed with methanol, and dried in vacuo to give a quantitative yield of 4-(thiazol-2-ylsulfamoyl)-benzamidine.
