11.00 g of (E)-N-[2-[3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]-2-(isopropoxyimino)ethyl]-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide was dissolved in 30 ml of acetic acid and stirred at 70° C. for 1 hour. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography using ethyl acetate-chloroform (with a gradient of from 0:100 to 5:95) as the eluent to obtain 5.63 g of the desired product as white crystals.
