Following the procedure as described in Example 6, making variations as required to replace ethyl 4-methyl-2-(2-oxo-3-phenylimidazolidin-1-yl)thiazole-5-carboxylate with ethyl 4-methyl-2-(2-oxo-3-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)benzyl)imidazolidin-1-yl)thiazole-5-carboxylate, the title compound was obtained in 64% yield: 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 7.42 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 2H), 7.32 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 2H), 4.43 (s, 2H), 3.98 (t, J=8.1 Hz, 2H), 3.44 (t, J=8.1 Hz, 2H), 2.46 (s, 3H); MS (ES+) m/z 402.1 (M+1).
