Procedure
Following the procedure as described in Example 23, making variations as required to replace 4-(chloromethyl)benzonitrile with 3-(bromomethyl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole to react with N-benzyl-4-methyl-2-(2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)thiazole-5-carboxamide, the title compound was obtained as a colorless solid in 17% yield: mp 139-141° C. (dichloromethane/hexanes); 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.98 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 2H), 7.49-7.29 (m, 8H), 5.88 (s, 1H), 4.62 (s, 2H), 4.57 (d, J=5.6 Hz, 2H), 4.13-4.08 (m, 2H), 3.68-3.62 (m, 2H), 2.63 (s, 3H), 2.41 (s, 3H); MS (ES+) m/z 488.3 (M+1).
