4-(4-Methoxy-benzenesulfonyl)-1-(3-methyl-but-2-enyl)-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid was prepared starting from 4-(4-methoxy-benzenesulfonyl)-1-(3-methyl-but-2-enyl)-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (6.2 g, 16 mmol) dissolved in ethanol (15 mL), 10 N sodium hydroxide (10 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (75 mL). The resulting reaction mixture was worked up as outlined in example 83. Yield 1.2 g (21%). brown solid mp 196-197° C., MS: 367.9 (M+H)+.
