A solution of 0.33 g of (R)-1-O-(4-chlorobutyryl)-3-O-octadecylglycerine in 10 ml of dichloroethane is treated at 80° C. with 10 ml of methyl isocyanate. The solution is evaporated and the residue is chromatographed on silica gel while eluting with ether. There is obtained (R)-1-O-(4-chlorobutyryl)-2-O-(methylcarbamoyl)-3-O-octadecylglycerine of melting point 61°-62° C. (dec.).
