Isoquinolin-4-amine (296 mg, 2.05 mmol) was dissolved in acetonitrile. To the reaction mixture was added pyridine (0.20 mL, 2.46 mmol) and phenyl chloroformate (0.27 mL, 2.15 mmol), respectively and stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude was purified by column chromatography to give phenyl isoquinolin-4-ylcarbamate (318 mg, 59%).
