The title compound was prepared as described in Example 1 starting from 0.228 g (0.7 mmol) of 5-(tetradecyloxy)furan-2-carboxylic acid and 0.083 mL (2.1 mmol) of methanol. MS (m/z, ES+): 339.34 (M+1, 100%).
