To a solution of compound 48 (578 mg, 0.81 mmol) in Et2O (14 mL) was added pyridine (0.007 mL, cat.) and phosphorus tribromide (0.038 mL, 0.40 mmol) at 0° C. under an atmosphere of nitrogen. After being stirred for 20 hours at room temperature, the mixture was partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to provide the crude product 49 (654 mg) as yellow oil.
