A solution of 3-[2-(2-2,3-Dihydro-1H-isoindol-5-yl-acetylamino)-2-(2,9,9-trimethyl-3,5-dioxa-4-bora-tricyclo[6.1.1.02,6]dec-4-yl)-ethyl]-2-methoxy-benzoic acid (0.110 g, 0.207 mmol) (prepared following the procedures in Steps 1-4 in Example 48), N-Boc-2-aminoacetaldehyde (0.06 g, 0.427 mmol), and methanol (2.5 mL) was purged with argon. Palladium on carbon (10%, 0.051 g) was added, the flask evacuated, and the reaction placed under hydrogen for 91 hr. The reaction mixture was filtered through a Celite-plugged filter frit, washed with CH3OH and CH2Cl2, and concentrated. The crude product was carried forward without purification. ESI-MS m/z 676 (MH)+.
