A suspension of 6-fluoro-7-methoxyisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (Cpd L, 0.531 g, 2.75 mmol) and 10% Pd/C in EtOH (20 mL) was stirred vigorously under a blanket of H2 (balloon) at room temperature for 2 days. The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to give 6-fluoro-7-methoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (Cpd M, 430 mg, 80%) as a white powder.
