0.5 mmol of 5-methyl-4-((3-phenyl-isoxazol-5-yl)-methoxy-)-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine was added into a 50 ml single-necked round-bottom flask containing 10 ml of dry dichloromethane. 2 ml of acetic acid was added under stirring, and the mixture was stirred for 1-2 hours at 30-40. The mixture was cooled down, crystallized, filtered and dried under vacuum to afford 5-methyl-4-((3-phenyl-isoxazol-5-yl)-methoxy-)-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine acetate as a colorless solid in 58% yield.
