Benzyl bromide and 6-[(2R,6S)-2,6-dimethylmorpholin-4-yl]-7-fluoro-3-hydroxy-1,2-benzisoxazole-5-carbaldehyde (Intermediate 556) were reacted using a method similar to the one described for the synthesis of Intermediate 557, providing the title product, along with a by-product, 2-benzyl-6-[(2R,6S)-2,6-dimethylmorpholin-4-yl]-7-fluoro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,2-benzoxazole-5-carbaldehyde. The mixture was used in the next step with out further purification.
