150 ml of ethanol and 5 gm Risperidone were charged in the flask. The reaction mixture was heated at 50-55° C. and stirred for 10 minutes to get clear solution. 2.1 gm decanoic acid solution in 30 ml ethanol was added to the reaction mixture at 40-45° C. The reaction mixture was further cooled to 25-30° C., stirred for 18-20 hours and distilled out completely under vacuum at 50-55° C. The solid was dried under vacuum at 40-45° C.
