Reaction Steps
A solution of ethyl 4-(phenoxycarbonylamino)cinnamate (500 mg), 3-aminopyridine (154 mg) and triethylamine (325 mg) in N,N-dimethylformamide (5 ml) was stirred for 2 hours at 80° C. Water was added thereto, and the resulting precipitate was collected by filtration to give ethyl 4-[3-(3-pyridyl)ureido]cinnamate (307 mg) as a colorless powder. mp: 188-189° C.
