Procedure
Chlorosulfonic acid (25 m, 0.37 mmol) was cooled down to 0° C. in a three necked flask equipped with a thermometer. N-trifluoroacetyl-2-methyl-indoline (17 g, 74.23 mmol) was added thereto in several portions. After the resulting mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 1 hour, the reaction mixture was slowly poured into 200 m of ice water. The precipitate thus formed was collected by filtration and dried to afford 9.2 g of the title compound.
