Reaction Steps
To a solution of 1.5 g (4.3 mmol) of the product of Example 176 in 200 mL of acetone was added 4 g of K2CO3 and 5 ml of benzylbromide and the mixture was refluxed for 8 hours. The reaction mixture was then filtered and the acetone was removed in vacuo. The residue was dissolved in chloroform and washed well with water. The organic layer was then dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting residue chromatographed on silica gel luting with 30% Ethyl acetateexane to give 1.8 g (79%) of the desired product as a brown oil. Electrospray Mass Spec 527 (M+H).
